sounds odd that your VIN wouldn't be included if you have a 2019 q8:

It's very clear on the far right of the TSB. It's being launched in multiple waves. BSG supply is still constrained.

Doesn't show specific vin numbers, and it is rolled out in waves. Also only the dealers will have the vins that apply I guess. I guess I will just have to stay on top of it. Also interesting in the parts description the q8 isn't listed with the new 4N1 part number

My SA said they would stil have to check and see if they fall within a certain criteria in order to be replaced under the recall

That TSB only lists 2020 model years for the RSQ8, not 2019 or 2021. Is there a different TSB number for those MYs?

Took my 2019 A7 in yesterday to get the BSG replaced. Couple hours later I got a text from the dealership saying they are "waiting for the alternator to arrive at the dealership" They made it sound like they had them sitting around. So I wonder what the supply chain is like and how long I will wait. I thought these days the supply was much better vs year or two ago it was 6 mo wait.
At least they gave a Q5 as a loaner.

My SA said they only had one in stock when I brought my car in. He made it sound like it was still difficult sourcing parts.

Finally I got the replacement BSG for my Q8 today after being in the delar for 2 days. The SA told me that the majority of failures were due to overloading of the BSG by auto start/stop system which in turn fried the chips inside the alternator. He said that they updated start/stop software to improve the efficiency of it and that it shouldn't fail prematurely.
