Just got a notice from Audi that there is now an extended warranty for the starter-alternator of 7 years, unlimited miles from time of original delivery. And they will reimburse for previous payment for this issue.

It doesn't say anything about a loaner car or rental reimbursement. It sure feels like they are doing the bare minimum that they can get away with...

@Mrclopec & @a75 You may have already know this, but I believe BMS stands for Battery Management System, SCAP stands for Super CAPacitor, and LiIon stands for Lithium Ion. I think what this means is that the BMS in your cars are both SCAP instead of LiIon. I do not know what the difference between these two BMS designations is, because I don't know what the 48V "battery" composition is, or details about the BMS. I learned there are a few different super capacitor types, and some are also LiIon. It could just be that the SCAP BMS is more precise compared to the LiIon, and that it does a better job managing the 48V battery cells. I did some searching in your Ross-Tech post @Mrclopec for the BSG part number, and a partial part number, and the word "start" - I couldn't find any hardware/software data like what was in the address cc. I have no clue. It seems like the data would need to be somewhere. The only thing I could think of is that maybe it's held in the Battery Regulator? I say that because the system - the 48V battery, BSG, and the Voltage Regulator are all part of a vitesco-technologies system made for audi so maybe the brain of the system is the regulator? There is starter data but it is under the engine, and it's just counts of the start data, nothing about the hardware / software of the BSG.

Mine has been in the shop for 3 weeks now. Audi dealership still says “unknown” timing for receiving the part(s) needed. No loaner, I’m in and out of rental cars as needed, they claim they will reimburse $50/day.

Meanwhile, I’m getting notifications via my Google monitoring that several attorneys have opened (or are investigating opening) Class Action lawsuits. Anyone seen any of these?

@ThomasWShea I think you're onto something. Two different battery types.

The odd thing is Ross-Tech's Hex-Net is still identifying it as module 61 and reads it as 61. The gateway installation list even shows it installed as module 61. ODIS reads it as 21. If I try and directly connect to address 21 with my Hex-Net, it just times out. The module is on CAN6... Im sure there is an explanation for the discrepancy but more investigation is needed.

@a75 Are you using ODIS or VCDS? I wonder if anyone with a vehicle prior to MY22 who also has access to ODIS can confirm they do or do not have module 21 in their installation list... Im not thinking they would though because of it being a different system.

I have SQ8 MY 2020, I use ODIS and I have module 21. I also use VCP and there is 21 as well..
