I only see the following in the list of PR codes: 9G5 alternator 140–210 А

No. As you can see in my signature, this is V8 TFSI
9G5 is the Denso. To see it you would need to get under the car and remove the panel that is under the engine. i have a small mirror on an extendable rod that i can sometimes use to see stuff underneath so if u have one of those that might work too. If u scroll up you can see my post with pictures of each alternator. anyhow, your car has the denso so you will not have this issue. congratulations!

@a75 Look at post# 526. There is a white sticker in the trunk. If you post a picture of what your sticker has and its battery in the trunk, that will answer some questions.

a75 you can also send us the scan of your car (module CC, 21, 61). As I remember well you are proficient in coding and you have VCDS or OBDEleven.

Thanks. Clear. You have air-cooled alternator and capacitor instead of battery. This alternator is rather trouble-free. It means that last SQ8 with TFSI engines have the same 48V systems as Cayenne or Urus with older version of 14V alternators.

@retom and @Mrclopec what is on the trunk sticker that tell us a vehicle is air cooled? Is it 0K0 or 9G5 on the sticker, or some other value?

Please see post# 534 that details the possible combinations. The sticker in the trunk lists SOME of the vehicle’s PR codes but not all of them. Erwin will tell you all of them.

It looks like the code that DOES show up on the trunk sticker is the 9G* code which is in the GEN family of PR codes.

Our assessments would indicate the following logical conclusions:

-If you do not have an SQ8, you have a BSG.
-If you do have an SQ8 and look in your trunk and see a huge 48V battery, you have a BSG.
-If you have an SQ8 and don’t have a huge 48V battery and it looks like the picture I previously posted of what’s in my trunk, then you have the SCAP.

This all supported by the info in post# 534. If your PR sticker says 9G3, 9G5, or 9G6 you may have the SCAP, If your sticker says 9G8 you have the BSG with the 48V battery.

Default Letter from AUDI seven year warranty plus reimbursement for the alternator part

Someone posted a PDF of a letter they received indicating that the warranty on the Q8 is now seven years were they will pay for what you paid to have the alternator replaced. I haven't received a letter yet but I am up $2200 that I had to put out because my car is out of warranty, I called Audi USA today it was told there's a 50 minute wait so I didn't wait I hung up I was wondering if anybody else had any success in trying to get them to pay you back from
purchasing this part .

We don't know this on 100%. Our investigation is still ongoing In US TSB (in EU it is called TPI) there is an information that SQ8 also may be affected by this " BSG disease". Perhaps some SQ8 also on US market have BSG. Btw it is interesting why SQ8s have air cooled alternator and RSQ8s have BSG. RSQ8 is much closer to Urus than SQ8.
9G5 on the trunk sticker means that the car has 140-210A, 14V alternator. As I remember 0K0 or 4K0 are not printed on this sticker but you can find these PR on the detailed specification of the car. 0K0 means: without alternative drive system.
