Yep, just happened to me last Monday in my 2019 Q8 with 63,000 KM (not even miles)! One warning came up, then later everything shut down and I was stranded on the road. Towed to the dealership and was told it is the alternator - a "known" problem with Audi - and that they would need about 3-4 weeks to get the part from Germany. The Service Advisor told me in confidence that they are very aware of this issue and it is common. I'm quite disappointed but will be pushing to make sure that this is a warranty covered item.

Driving my son from his travel soccer game and my 2019 Q8 Prestige (bought September 2019)(48k miles), COMPLETE SHUT DOWN! Battery light went from yellow to red, windows fell down and parking function including emergency parking brake failed. I had to keep my foot on the brakes until my suv switched itself into some safety mode and put itself in park. My husband had to drive 2 hours to come get us and my car is being towed to Audi.

I'm collecting info on those that have experiences this failure. Please provide your date of manufacture of your 2019 Q8 which is also happening to the 2019 A6/7/8. I'm trying to build a correlation to manufacture date.

My date of manufacture (A7 Prestige, S-Line) is Sept 2018 (09 18) according to the specification sticker on the driver's door (not the door jamb or pillar). The system failed at about 37,500 miles on the odometer. Similar symptoms as yours.

Let me know what your trim package (Premium, P+, Prestige) and manufacture date are and we'll have more data points.

Same issue happened to me last week. 2019 Q8 Prestige with build date of 08/2018. I have 44,100 miles and pop up then system failures. Car is at dealer they said it needs a new alternator.

Same thing just happened last week to our 2019 Q8 as well. Wife got stranded (obviously not happy) and the Q8 is now with the dealer. It's a Prestige but I don't have the build date handy. Purchased end of Dec. 2018.

Let me know what your manufacture date and mileage are for your Q8 and we'll have more data points. My date of manufacture is Sept 2018 (09 18) on my 2019 A7 according to the specification sticker on the driver's door (not the door jamb or pillar). I am not sure where this sticker is on the Q8 but this at least gives you an idea of what to look for.
