I'm seeing workorders to replace the BSG with an associated part number 06M121488. Some WOs on AudiWorld have 06M121488A. Any idea which one I should be stocking up on?

All workorders I found on here are all for the EA839 3.0L V6. So I'm not sure if I should buy the one with the A or the one without? TY

Interesting, I see this gasket in 3.0L V6 engine but don't see it in 4.0L V8 engine. 06M121488 is for cars produced to 8.07.2019 and with "A" is for cars from this date. You can buy both gaskets, it doesn't cost a fortune.

Sounds like the same thing that I experienced. I had mine replaced a few months ago. I’m out of warranty instead of $4500. They charge me $2400. I also recently placed the fuel pump. Some people have been getting letters about extending the warranty to seven years And covering the entire cost of the generator I followed up with Audi and received a phone call and now I’m in the process of sending them all the dates and expenses incurred to see if I can get back by $2400. This is a long process it took me seven weeks to get the part , I’m hoping I can get reimbursed the 2400 as well

They should reimburse you, it is spelled out in the letter. Hopefully you'll get that check soon!

It took nearly 3 years for the 2019s to start showing signs of mass failures in 2022. It may take another 3 years to hear about cars experiencing failures for a second time.

They have not addressed the "cause" of the issue so it is only a metter of time. The new alternator fixes a symptom. Without a redsign or software revelation, I dont see that the problem is fixed.

True - but I would be curious about the euro failure numbers as there are cases there where people have had the BSG fail, fail and fail within a 3 year period. We just haven't seen that here. There could be something to @angrypengu's thought that the euro 'back to back' failure rate is due to the coast functionality.

Default 2019 Q8 Generator Fail

This is a significant issue with the generator.. we have a 2019 Q8.. got the electrical system failure warning.. took it in.. generator failure and because it’s such a major issue with these the part is the number one back-ordered part at Audi.. 6-8 weeks to repair.. and if Audi Reno’s 8 loaners.. all are in tue shop so we will be driving a rental for two months. I have heard no clear response that the new models have repaired the problem.
