OK, at the risk of being told not to be lazy and to reread the thread, has it been more-or-less determined that if you don't have the BSG then indeed "no issue"? If so, then how would one go about determining if your Q8/SQ8/RSQ8 has the BSG (e.g. if you don't have the Sport Suspension option)?

If indeed there is too much detail to repeat then a pointer to the range of message#s in this thread would be appreciated.

There is a sticker in ur manual and trunk w some product codes. I think 0K0 means u have air cooled regular alternator and 0K4 means you have the BSG. I think those code technically tell you the 48 volt mild hybrid designation of the car.

here is a post from when we were figuring it out you can scroll around to learn more:

Ahh, thanks much, I'm on the case (as soon as I find my lost house keys, that is, when it rains it pours)!

You more than likely have the BSG but you can verify by checking the coding.

There may be not 0K0 or 0K4 on the car sticker. But there should be PR number 9G8 or 9G5 .

Lift the floor, it should be under there somewhere. I have seen it on the very bottom before too, under the spare tire, which is a pain.
