Okay, 9G8 means you have the BSG, your car has the issue:

9G5 is air cooled - and you would not have the issue.
The 0K0 and 0K4 pertain to the Hybrid values, you can ignore that for now

It’s looking more and more like the process used to determine which system utilized is the equivalent of throwing darts at a board.
MY23 being the determining factor is out the window.
MY23 in the US with MY22 RdW is out the window.
Active roll stabilization triggering is out the window.
Without comparing multiple complete PR build sheets side by side I’ve got nothing.

Interesting but sad read. I just got a 2019 Q8 prestige with 6K on the OD. No issues currently. After trying out the engine shutoff features I can see how this setup can blow up. My bet is the issue is power surges and heat. They are asking BSG to be a starter, an alternator, a braking device and a motor which is way too much. The heat and current would put a lot of stress on the BSG. Also the switch between being a motor to an alternator will produce a surge every time. The heat probably melts the gaskets and leaks oil all over inside the BSG. My unit does the engine shutoff during coasting and braking. I hear the AC fan change when it does it and the rpm gauge goes to zero. The engine also didn’t turn on immediately upon brake release and runs on the BSG. Also the regen braking occurs in adaptive cruise mode. It’s a pos system. It took the month I’ve had it to smooth out the brake rotors as the previous owner probably never shut it off and never really used the brakes. Average speed was 21mph. Like my previous Audis I shut the engine stop features off and limit the adaptive cruise to minimum. Limit its hybrid abilities as much as possible.

Yes the BSG generates electricity but recuperation of vehicle momentum is done via regenerative braking.
