Q8 Factory Order

So if you're able to get onto an allocation, how are you also able to pick it up same day? Or did i misunderstand the previous comment. I thought all Q8s are built in Slovakia.

He means the order was able to placed the same day as he ordered from the dealership because they had an allocation available. In my case, my dealer had already ordered a Q8 for inventory that was not that far into the build pipeline and Audi was still able to change the order. They adjusted the existing order to my exact specs. If they couldn't make the changes, it could have been weeks or longer before they got an allocation for my build.

Oh gotcha! Thank you so much for the explanation makes sense now. Hopefully when I put in my order, they will have either an allocation or like in your case have a dealership order that's not too far into production. I haven't even put the order in and the anticipation is already killing me.

Chiclet, I'm thinking yours may have been 4 months since it was when they were just rolling out a bunch of dealer allocations etc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though that it'd be around 3 months now.

Picking up on this thread. I put my build order in for an S5 Coupe the beginning of last month (Feb 2021) and Audi still has not accepted the build. I'm hearing all different reasons why. COVID, a shortage of ECU's, etc.
I'm just hoping I can get a timeline soon. I was hoping to get the car by Summer but that may end up being late summer/fall.
