Q8 OEM rear license plate bracket is a POS

I'm fairly new to the Audi world and didn't know that the rear license bracket was an issue for a lot of owners for several reasons. Mine had a stripped screw tab that I discovered when I was installing new plates. Brought it back to the dealer and they said they would fix it/replace it with a new one. A few weeks ago while driving on the freeway I was alerted by another motorist that my license was about to fall off. After pulling over, I discovered the bracket was still the same broken one, they just used a double-sided tape and slotted in a piece of plastic to keep the screw tabs from rotating. To say that I was pissed is stating the obvious and rather than going back to the dealership again, I decided to fix it myself. At first, I was just going to get the $140 OEM part, then after searching the forums I found a $60 replacement from ECS. But while looking up articles about the short screws and all the issues that came with this crappy OEM bracket, I discovered this aftermarket bracket that not only looked better but also functioned better. If anyone is interested in looking it up here's the URL: https://yourlittlecncshop.com/produc...-plate-bracket
Here's the new license bracket frame installed. The hardest part of the installation was removing all the gunk left over from the OEM mounting tape.

This is exactly what happened to my son on a brand new 2018 A4. Since then I have always refused the dealer's offer to install new plates and do it myself after buying the following.
I gently test fit and ensure the bolts do not bottom out and add a spacer between the screw head and license plate if necessary. Do not overtighten!
On the same A4 when it was moved to another state where front license plates are not required, guess what, I find that when the dealer installed the front license plate he never gave us the plastic part that required removal to accommodate the front license plate holder. Audi happily charged us $45 for a replacement one. So I now also install the front license plate holder myself to ensure I keep my hands on any plastic parts that are removed. For example, these are the parts I removed from the front grill of the RS Q8 when I installed it's front license plate holder.
Plastic parts removed from RS Q8 front grill
Hex socket head M6 stainless steel screw
- M6-1.0 x 8mm Button Head Hex Socket Cap 304 Stainless Steel 18-8 Screws
- M6-1.0 x 10mm Button Head Hex Socket Cap 304 Stainless Steel 18-8 Screws
- M6 Plastic Nylon Flat Spacer Washer (ID M6, OD 12mm, Thickness 1.2mm)
