Well that explains it, it takes a really long time for the shortcuts to load.

Does anyone else think the key fob buttons are pressed a little too easily? Just outside my office window is where I park my car, and when the key fob is in my pocket and I bump against something, I'm accidentally pressing buttons. Sometimes I look outside and my trunk is wide open! The worst part is that since my car is usually facing me, I can't use the fob to close the trunk (another annoying quirk).

I'm thinking about buying a case for the fob or something that might prevent this.

If you have an obdeleven you can reprogram that amount of time it takes to hold down the hatch button until it opens. Should solve your problem

Yes, this was very annoying when I first got my car. Since I adjusted the setting with OBD it’s never happened again. One of the many nice upgrades you can make with OBDeleven. If you plan on keeping the Q8 more than a couple years OBD11 is a must-have imo.

what is the setting to delay the open? I have come down to the car several times to find it was open over night in my garage.

You don't have such a key? I have to press 2 times to open the trunk. It never happened to me that it opened by itself.

There's a thread on this. A recent software update fixes the problem and also gives the Q8 a better acceleration feel from stopped. Still a car that is somewhat reluctant to get going, but better. We always turn off the auto stop/start anyway, if I forgot, that stumble was dangerous. I found over 30 complaints on the NHSTA site.
