My 2019 Audi Q8’s passenger side mirror camera stopped working which is very annoying while parking. I asked the dealership and they told me it would cost me $2.1k. I can find the right camera for $200-300 on Ebay. Anyone any experience replacing these cameras? Is it difficult? Does it require calibration?

Replacement of the mirror camera is not difficult. However, new camera must be calibrated.

Any idea if an audi dealership would calibrate it for me if i replace it myself?

They should if you pay for it Before replacement just check the plug connections also these in the door where the camera is connected to controller. You will have to remove door panel. this is easy and takes 10 minutes.

I am assuming that you checked also all connections under the door panel. As far as I remember replaced camera don't need any coding. Only calibration.
It also doesn't have the Component Protection. I am afraid that you will not avoid the visit at the dealer.

Are you sure the actual camera module is bad? I had an intermittent issue with the driver's side camera. Dealer dissembled the entire mirror, camera and door assembly, did not find anything wrong and put it all back together and since then it has worked 100% flawlessly. Apparently was some sort of connection or pinched wire issue. Your problem might not be the actual camera.
