I am considering an sq8 and wondering how loud the exhaust is on startup? I used to have an x3 m40i and the exhaust startup was very annoyingly loud, disruptive for no good reason.

Does anyone with an sq8 have feedback or a video?

No video, but it sounds great. Just right. Not annoying, but not subtle.

Heres a video of a brand new sq7 which shares the exact same powertrain as the sq8 head over to 3:13 for some revs and 11:15 for some inside driving shots! Sounds healthy for an S car!

There is a way to control the valves a bit better to keep them closed during startup by using an exhaust valve controller:

Audi Q8, SQ8, RSQ8 4M | '19+ CETE Products

- Dynamic - Valves are Fully Open at All RPM
- Automatic - Standard Factory Valve Behavior
- Comfort - Valves Remain Closed until 5000rpm
- ESP Double Tap - Immediate Closing or Opening of Valves
- Startup - Valves Revert to Last Setting Used on Shutdown

So you could set the car into comfort at shutoff so that when you start the car back up the valves are fully closed to cut some of the noise down.
