I just purchased a 2019 Q8 Premium Plus but haven't picked it up yet. I took the car for a test drive and when I was done I checked the engine out and heard the noise in the video below. Any idea what is the cause of this or is this a normal sound? The dealer is replacing the gear selection cover and I told them to investigate the noise.

The car has 57k miles on it.

I think they are going to tell you it sounds normal. I didn't hear anything like this:
Either way, don't pick it up until you are satisfied.

However, I'd ask about the alternator generator TSB 27-22-41 and try to get them to update the software for that before I'd worry about much else. That is probably your biggest risk.

I'd advise a warranty...I believe an avg. repair on this car would be at least 3500$ based on my experience with audi's and other german cars over the years. they don't break often, but when they do it isn't cheap.

sounds like the injectors working to me.....that is not engine knock.

Injectors working fine? Or you meant they are going bad?

Yep, injector noise. Have heard similar in other cars we've owned.

I got it checked out at the Audi dealer and they said it was fine. I am happy!!!! I am new to Audi so I wanted to make sure.
