It's well-known that Audi offers fewer options to US buyers than in Europe, and there are plenty of reasons for this: cost, regulatory, etc. I'm frustrated by it too, but it is what it is, as the saying goes. As our European members always remind us, they pay a lot more in Europe for these cars than we do, so there's a tradeoff too. Your spec comes out to 153k USD, for example.

If you want maximum bespoke-ness, there's always Porsche.

BMW pursues a similar policy.Even though the large BMW SUVs are manufactured in Spartanburg SC, their personalization options are also much wider in Europe.
It is definitely a combination of country regulations, car prices, marketing policy, market competitiveness and customer preferences.

The other component is the crushing taxes in the UK. Sure, they have more options, but they also cost a lot more.

For example, the B&O Advanced 3D sound system on the D5 A8 is $5900 CAD (here in Canada), and 5900 GBP (last I checked) in the UK. For those keeping track, the GBP is almost 2x what the CAD $ is. (or 1.7x or something like that?)

It's nuts over there. It's also why you see quite a few S8s over there without the exterior lighting package (as an example).

Crazy how you can configure a car in the Germany market. In the US my B8.5 RS5 basically had 3 or 4 options you could pick (stereo, black optics, driver assist, exhaust. For Germany I have a hard cover RS5 options book that has endless options you could pick from plus the Individual custom options. Porsche is still this way in the US market, but Audi packages everything up in just a few options. But like others said... our cars are super cheap compared to what is paid for one in Germany.
