OK, first I have tried running a forum search and got no hits (or at least any I could find) on R8 track wheel options.

Anyone have an insight or information on 18 inch (for track tires) wheel options for the R8? As basic as will 18" wheels even fit, or are 19's required? If 18's can be used, what rubber are you mounting?

Last, what pads are people using or planing to use for the track / HPDE days? Do the R8's calipers cross share pads with other models, or are they unique to the R8?

Ok, still no hits. Forgeline makes, or will make a set of 18" wheels. I'm told several sets have been sold and fit to R8's. I've got a set on order. Anyone running 18", what size tires have you fitted?

Bueller? Just checking again. Is anyone running anything other than the OEM tires and wheels for track or HPDE events? If so, in what size or sizes; brand etc.

Anyone using, or planning on using anything other than the stock brake pads/fluid?

Last, are there any other R8 discussion sites that might tend to have a more technical focus, information or organization to them that would make finding performance etc info a bit easier than sifting through a lot of the "What color did you get?" stuff.

for cross fitting to the R8?

I see that there's at least one set of Gallardo takeoffs for sale on eBay. The Gallardo wheels are described as having 5x122mm bolt patern (this has been a standard Audi size for a long time, I'm making the assumption the R8 is following the 5x112 pattern) with

Fronts at 8.5"x19 ET 41.9mm & Rear 11"x19 ET 55.3

FWIW, the Audi ETKA shows two different sets of 18" wheels for the R8

420-601-025D 10,5x18 H2-ET55 " Rear, for winter tires.

Looks like Audi changes the rear offset, from 50mm to 55mm, to bring the tire inside the wheel well slightly, @ 1/4tr of an inch on the winter wheels. The fronts remain the same for summer or winter.

I don't have the dealer pricing handy, but if I recall correctly, the wheels are something @ $750/$800 each. Anyone know if any dealers are offering AudiClub discounts on OEM wheels? TPMS sensors add another @ $150 or so per wheel to that cost if they are also installed.
