Default Anyone broke their clutch yet, using launch control?

How cautious should one be when they see the "clutch is overheating, if possible please stop the vehicle" message?

Car was not worked too hard. Maybe five starts from 0 to 150, but from a standstill, and one launch. When the launch was attempted, the car's DIS showed that message.

It has cleared after cool down...

Default LOL @ "not too hard"

beating on it from 0-150 is pretty hard, especially if you are launching it off the line and then slamming the gears when shifting.

Default Not 150mph. :)

It's 150kph(so about 95mph). Also, only 2 of those were linear, 0-95mph, the rest were 0-40-80-cars ahead going faster-95 to catch up.

Launching is hard no matter what. Any launching is 'too hard.'

Why are you launching anyway?

Default You're obvioustly doing it wrong...

Why don't you outline the steps you're taking to use launch control. And I'd stop doing whatever it is you're doing, otherwise a very expensive clutch, flywheel and throw-out bearing are in the near future.

ESP OFF, foot on brake, car in 1st gear, rev to 5000, foot off the brake, go?

Default Any launch control isn't all that good on a clutch... but it is fun...

Thats why dragsters only race 1/4 mile and rebuild tranny's and replace clutches a couple times a day and one reason why most road race series have rolling starts. Use your "Launch Control Credits" wisley no matter what you drive. Its fun, but not going to make your clutch live longer. And I don't think Chic's dig it that much either.

No performance car should have any problems going full throttle 0-150 mph.
