Speed limiter, not rev limiter. The stock tune is very aggressive up top but down low...
there is a bit of room for optimization. I wouldnt do it if I had an R8 but I can see the value in it for some. The throttle sensitivity adjustment can be a great benefit as well if you are one who is bothered by the downsides of DBW.

The gains he "felt" could have been easily imagined by a simple throttle sensitivity adjustment.
By changing the throttle input / output curves.
IIRC that was one of your main selling points on the 3.2 R32 engine, but the actual hp/tq gains were quite minimal and could be easily attributed to dyno variances + a little extra timing to take full advantage of 93 octane.
