Default Looking for black wheels for my '09 R8

Hello all - I have a white R8 (with carbon fiber sideblades) coming in shortly - was actually supposed to be here (CT) this week, but I'm now told 2nd week in August. I think the car will look amazing with black wheels, any suggestions?

Thanks much.

Default Black carbon Dymags are available. 10K a set.

Default You just want to paint the factory wheels black correct?

There are tons of pics if you search.

Not really. Guess that would be one way to go, but I was thinking matte black wheels with a very open "racing" design. Would love to see any pics you know of, I just did a quick search and couldn't find any.

Thanks.

Default Thank you Der Kimbo - you just made up my mind!

Looks like I'll do gray on my Dymags when I order them. A buddy of mine and I have been arguing over black (he thinks better) or gray. The gray looks sweet!

Default Just remember...

Dymag has a very interesting product, but thee are still kinks to be worked out. There have been quite a few finish issues and air leaks on recently delivered wheels. Also remember to discard them after 24mos.

Default Discard after 24???

Care to explain? I'm not into tossing 10K away in 24 months on rims.

I appreciate the heads up and will take into account any advise you can throw my way.

Default Magnesium wheels have a short life span...

Although it is stronger than Aluminium, Magnesium is also a much more brittle metal and develops fatigue cracks due to vibrations and impacts. Our factory recommends discarding after 24 months of use for safety reasons (same factory that provides the centers for dymags).

This is the main reason I'm quite hesitant to use Mg in street applications.
