I inquired with Dymag yesterday after reading the comments about discarding and received this email response today:
"Old magnesium wheels and some race wheels would weaken and crack over time but today's grade magnesium is not of the same nature. It also depends on how the magnesium is coated, as it is corrosive by nature. Dymag centers are Teflon coated and then powder coated so the magnesium is completely sealed."
"We also offer an annual inspection service using colored dye and an X-ray to examine for cracks. If we were to find a problem, we would replace the center under warranty."
