It sounds like you've got that down.
As said, the R8 uses a purely mechanical fluid coupling which increases torque transfer directly proportionally to the speed delta between the front and rear axles.

Haldex is a wet clutch pack, not a viscous coupling.
Normally the clutches are disengaged but as oil pressure builds the clutches engage and torque is transferred from the input shaft to the output shaft. So what causes the oil pressure? Differences in speed between the input and output shafts drive the oil pump. The haldex is actually a mechanical coupling in this mode. There is also an auxiliary oil pump which can be activated by the ECU to build pressure.
A popular mod for haldex equipped cars is an upgraded controller which takes a more active interest in torque delivery. The common blue (race) controller starts that pump when you mash the gas so it becomes a proactive solution rather than reactive (waiting for wheel slip).
