Default Revo Technik is proud to announce our tuning is now available for your R8!

<img src="http://revotechnik.rcrholdings.com/revologo_sm.jpg">

After hours and hours on the dyno, street, and racetrack, we are proud to announce our R8 flash is now available, following the success of our 4.2 FSI RS4 tuning.

<img src="http://revotechnik.rcrholdings.com/r8dyno.jpg">

Retailing for only $899, this switchable and adjustable software produces an additional 15hp and 20ft/lbs of torque from your R8's 4.2L V8. We've also raised the rev limit, and removed the top speed limiter. Flashed through your diagnostic port, the software is installed in about 20 minutes with no soldering or ECU removal required.

Default What did you raise the rev limiter to? The R8 doesn't have a top speed limiter as far as I know...

and it already has the highest mean piston speed of any production engine.

What "engineering" have you done to ensure that mean piston speeds above 25 m/s are reliable in this engine?

Default Sorry, poor choice of words. The R8/RS4 V8 has quite a few rev limits that come into play.

There are cold oil temp rev limits of 6000 and 7000rpm, those remain intact. Also there is a DTC / limp mode rev limit, that remains intact as well.

The RS4 uses a two stage rev limit to control over revving. A soft limiter that comes in and closes the throttle just before 8000rpm, and it will reduce the throttle gradually until the final hard limiter at 8250. The tach will sometimes show almost 8300-8400, but the ECU will show you its not revving that high.

We remove the soft limiter, so the throttle stays open for your entire WOT run, and the car still bumps the hard limiter at 8250.

The piston speed stays the same

Default The software is compatible with our current Select & Select Plus switches

Which let you switch the tune back to stock mode, or set up three of your own profiles for fuel quality and throttle sensitivity.

See my post above for rev limiter info.<ul><li><a href="http://revotechnik.com/products/sps.aspx">http://revotechnik.com/products/sps.aspx</a</li></ul>

Default That makes sense and was the answer I was hoping you'd give. ;-)

I figured so much from the shape of the chipped hp curve above 7800 rpm.

Default Does letting the car rev the additonal 250 rpm make that much of a perceptible difference? Does it..

actually increase performance on a dyno graph at the point?
