Default '01 A6 symphony advice?

I want to get ipod and sat radio support - it sounds like the easiest way is to get a new aftermarket h/u, is that true?

since bose system is proprietary, i am assuming that I basically need to bypass the amps to all the speakers including the sub.

if that's the case, does it mean my sub will be left unpowered? does anyone have any picture?

Default You can go either way....

..the BOSE system will not prevent you from adding Ipod or Satellite radio.

The SAT radio tuner works on the antenna line, and you will not have to bypass anything.

Just a FYI...there is just one amp running the whole BOSE system.

Default Hey 5speed! Ill tag along on this one but mine is a Symp 2....

I was looking into geting sat now that they merged but I do not have the sat button on my HU or a 6 disk in the trunk. Im not ready to purchase an RNS E so my question like above..

What is the best way to add sat radio and keep the stock unit?

p.s. On a side note I sent you an IM and email. Did you happen to get them. Good to see you around again!!

Default yes...

you use the external tuner, and just tune the radio to a specific frequency.

Default The USA Spec ipod adapter sold at Crutchfield allows for a second input device...

You might want to check it out. For $150 or so, you get a powered iPod connection and an additional set of RCA inputs for a sat radio source.

link

Default iPod and aux input for your Audi vehicle

We have a kit for that car. It is the i-Audi-R kit. It has been upgraded for the 5 Volt USB Charging System to support all the newer iPod models. With the DICE Electronics iPod interface, it also gives you an audio input for any other audio device taht you want to plug into it.
