Default 10" or 12" ? 1 or 2 ?

Right now, I have a 10" JL Audio 10W3 sub in a Tube. I pulled it out of my previous car (Mitsubishi Eclipse). It sounded nice in my Eclipse 'cause it's a hatchback and the sound carried, but my tube just doesn't do it in the Audi.

People have recommended that I place my current woofer in a box instead of the tube. Here is my dilemma:

I'm planning on a 12" woofer (MTX Thunder8000). Do I put one or two? I don't want to set off car alarms when I drive by, but I also like to listen to my music loud and feel the vibrations.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Default I have a JL 10W3 and it sounds great. Any thing more with the seats up and the rear deck starts

to rattle pretty bad. I had a W6 and downgraded to the W3 to avoid dynamatting.

Default one 12" is fine....

I have a 12" Orion (powered by 200 Watts) in a ported box and with the rear seats up you can definitely hear the bass. It isn't boomy even with rap and techno. If the rear seat is down, then it gets a bit more boomy and you can feel it. Its a great effect. I don't have a ski sack so I don't know how that fits into the equation.

I have one 10 and it hits very hard and very low... Proper box design and placement are key.

Default I run two 10" subs, sealed box

Good volume, punchy and not too much space is used, so the box is compact. Just power any sub right and it will work. I like 10" subs cause they are tight and heavy

I have a JL Audio 10" in a box with an old Rockford Fosgate amp (Punch 45) running it and it's just fine. The box is probably what you need rather than a 12" sub. I don't know what you listen to or how loud, but my 10" will rock just fine.
