Default 2000 Symphony (prewired cd in trunck)...Questions on the "Peripheral Electonics" IPOD kit

I went to an online retailer to buy the kit and from what I can tell, It says if you have a symphony radio you have to buy the PHXAD2 cable in addition to the PHXVW2 wiring harness. Is it true that I have to connect to the back of the HU? Can I just use the PHXAD1 cable to connect at the 13 pin connector in the trunk? I don't have a CD changer but the connector is there. Or is there any other easier/cheaper IPOD integration products?

Default Better to use a DICE in simple mode in my opinion...

...but why would you want to run the cable the length of the car?

I have some of the Peripheral pieces but I use the DICE on Audis almost exclusively.

Default 2nd. The "alure" of using the trunk cable is misplaced.

From the reading I've done, it's much harder to run the cable (that goes to your iPod) from the trunk forward. Popping the head unit is a piece of cake (have done it several times with NO hassles. Just need the right tools.

See my sig for details. Hit the "iPod/IceLink integration" link for some good reading.

Default Do a search on "Dice" and "IceLink" -- we had a very good thread recently discussing...

...these two solutions and the pros/cons of each. Excellent background for anybody looking to do an iPod install. Search is your friend. Trust me.
