Hey guys, just went through this problem. For about 6 months I thought the only way to get the code for the radio was from the stealership. However go to the audiusa.com website and get the audi customer experience center number, have your vin and radio serial number beginning with AUX ready and they give you the code for free.
As for removing the radio. I went to walmart and spent $11.95 and got the tools there. They come 2 in a pack so you have to buy 2 packs but the tools worked perfectly. Just make sure you don't push them in too far or they will get stuck, also make sure that the notches face in and you will be good to go
