Default 2013 Q5 Bluetooth Help

Hi! New Audi owner here. Just purchased a 2013 Q5. I love it! BUT didn't realized the Bluetooth was out-of-date. I guess it only works with 3G phones from what I'm gathering online. I have an Audi Concert radio and it does not have an MMI port in the glove box to connect a BT adapter. Can the software be updated? Or is there an Aux jack fix? I at a loss and its really bumming me out as I replaced a 2010 car that has BT phone and music. Any help would be appreciated!

Bluetooth does not make use of any cellular RF standards like UTSM ("3G"). It is it's own RF standard.

The port in the glovebox is "AMI", Audi Music Interface. Concert does support AMI; it would appear you just don't have it. Vehicles without AMI typically would have instead the AUX port in the center console storage bin, a 3.5mm analog stereo jack.

Audi B8 (in US, B8.0 runs through MY12, B8.5 (facelift) started MY13; B8 refers to A4, A5, and Q5 vehicles which share common implementations and electronics) vehicles may or may not have Bluetooth handsfree profile. The only Audi B8 vehicles with integrated Bluetooth streaming audio profile are MMI 3G+ vehicles (B8.5 with MMI navigation plus).

It appears for MY13, US Q5 had the Convenience Package (Bluetooth handsfree, AMI port, HomeLink) as an option for Premium and standard on Premium Plus and Prestige. Frankly, that's the kind of stuff that should be optional on a VW, and expected on every Audi. Even as far back as 2013. But so it seems you have a base as base gets US MY13 Q5. Not even a backup camera either.

Retrofitting AMI is not that big a challenge, but would take parts such as a new glove box insert to hold the unit. Retrofitting BT I guess isn't really a challenge either; more work as it sits under the passenger seat. But I'd probably skip retrofitting old Audi parts and look to retrofit a a modern interface like RSNAV (https://rsnav.com/collections/s3-and...32682870210663). For Concert, the audio connection method is normally RSNAV AUX output to R199 (AMI) AUX cable, but I would expect native R199 (AUX) port to be just as good, if it's there.

@MMNY : Take a look at something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174876280868

Or this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/202335326219

As noted in the eBay description, if your Q5 doesn't already have an aux-in port (say, in the armrest box), you'll need to "long code" the Concert radio to enable the AUX-IN media source (it's not difficult to do, you just need the correct VAG diagnostic tool to make the coding change). --g
