Default 2015 A6 MMI HD Failure

I pulled the hard drive from the radio and it is clicking and when connecting it to a computer, it shows 0 data on it. The plan was to copy it over to a new HD but not an option if it can't be read. Where could I find the image that I could copy over to the new HD to get everything working again? I really appriciate the help.

@Jmartin827 -- See my notes on the topic of MMI3GP HDDs over here: https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/mmi...ation.9497663/

If you're going to replace, I suggest you source an industrial Swissbit mSATA SDD and the Ableconn IIDE-MSAT mSATA SSD to 2.5-Inch IDE Adapter and repartition/format using my guide, above. --g

Thank you for the recommendation of hardware. Unfortunetly I had already purchased an 80GB IDE HD. Also thank you for the link above, very detailed method of expanding and converting to the SSD. Reading through that, I didn't see where I could get the facotry image they would use on my 2015 Audi A6. My HD is junk so I don't have anything to copy from. I'm sorry if I'm missing something in it, I'm just trying to get it back to working condition for now.

@Jmartin827 -- If you don't need/care to restore, say, the Gracenote libary (as described in my post, above), you can try a new, special built QNX tool (from a fellow in Lithuania who seems to have access to all of the QNX developer tools for these older MMI3G High/Plus systems) that will repartition & format the installed HDD for MMI3GP if the device is found at /dev/hd0. Take a look at my GitHub repository here: https://github.com/DrGER2/MMI3GP-HDD-MJan-Tool

Another fellow from the UK used this SD script recently to repartition the 60 GB HDD in an Asian market A1 main unit in-place for use with EU software, so we know the approach works.

BTW, find the NAR 2021/2022 navdb update here: https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/8r0...-data.9477077/ --g
