A4 Speakers and Subs

I have a '96 A4 non-Bose/Delta HU. I've been poking around the forum for a few days but still have some questions.
1. Can I put new speakers in the front doors withhout changing my head unit?
I would like to leave the Delta HU in place. I had previously thought that these speakers are 2 Ohm but from what I have read it seems as if these speakers are the easy ones to replace.
2. What is the most cost effective way to add subs to my Delta radio.
I already have the subs and amp from a VW that I previously owned. I have also been told that I can pull the signal from the rear speakers and wire them into some sort of box that will split the signal to my speakers and to my amp. I had doubts that this would work with what I am assuming is a 2 Ohm signal to the speakers.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The 2 ohm info is only applicable to a Bose system. Non-Bose is all 4 ohm.
You need a trimode or 4 ch amp to drive the sub and rear speakers.
Rear line level & remote on is already provided to the puny rear amp bolted to the left rear deck speaker. Just cut an RCA cable in half and splice the flying leads to the Audi loom.
