My A6 Symphony Non-bose is just terrible. Boomy mid base and dulled highs. I plan to upgrade these but I had some beginner questions.

1. How many speakers does the non-bose unit have?

2. Does the HU have an internal crossover?

3. Does the Non-bose system have a sub woofer in the rear deck? if so, does it have a separate amplifier or is it driven by the HU?

4. Can I just leave the HU and replace the speakers? Or does the HU only work with the speakers already installed?

5. Are there people out there who have replaced the speakers without adding an amplifer or swapping the HU?
