Default I did this .....

As well as some other here. In fact, it was your recommendation that I buy the PPI amp (and its awesome, I might add ... thanks). Anyway, I cut my RCA's and wired them to the rear channel line in to the Bose amp - from the head unit. It sounds very clean, no hissing or thumping, but then again, its just for subs. Anyway, I've heard of many people doing this (that's where I got the idea) and it works fine. Unless your running high quality highs, tapping the pre-outs from the deck are fine. But if you need very clean highs, I would use a speaker to line level converter (some say that tapping into speaker level actually adds distortion since your tapping into an amplified signal .... deck distortion + amp distortion).
