Ok, so I have an 88 Audi 90Q, and I tried to install my older Sony CD player into the car. I went to Circuit City and purchased the Antenna adapter, Stereo adapter (Sony - Universal) and the Car adapter (VW/Audi - Universal).

So Its basically a plug and play job....RIGHT?

Well, apparently the deck wont turn on, there is no plug for the "accessory" wire. Now I know Audi's dont have an "accessory" position, but everyone has said if you buy a harness the radio would turn on and off depending on if the key is in or out (the key slot pushing in and out). Well that definatly isnt the case, but I "tested" it by putting a wire between the "constant on" and the "accessory" wire, so I could test. Well, the radio turns on, but now I get NO sound out of the rear speakers (along with the having static because the antennas are not getting power). So at this point I said screw it! What the heck am I supposed to do? I mean if I really wanted to I could run more speaker wire to the rear speakers, but I am not gonna spend that much time on my commuter car! All I really want is a CD player in my car and a radio that doesnt cut out the left front speaker in the middle of using it!

Any suggestions would be great!!!!!!!

Basically I found out some of the answers I needed. Basically I wont be installing a aftermarket stereo in the car anytime soon. Oh well, guess Ill have to live with it for now.
