couple other things to look at . . . .
notice how your ipod conncts - just a cable and you are done also check out the blackbird nav system this will plug directly into your double din screen or remove and works independently very cool

I spoke to Alpine this weekend at CES.
1. All 2006 models will support direct connection of the IPOD through a cable (no box)
2. The blackbird portable NAV unit (runs WIN CE) will retail for 700 and with a doc (retail 200 or so) act as a NAV unit for any of their screens
3. All this stuff comes out by March/April
4. Glide touch is pretty much going away
5. New bluetooth unit that mutes the stereo and lets you answer calls from your stereo
