I took out the factory Wiesbaden deck and replaced it with a Kenwoord k215s cd deck. Used all the adaptors and everything from cructhfield. I get alternator whine from the back speakers (factory) (apparently they are self-amplified) - i have tried grounding the head unit everywhere on the car - the best i could find was at the front of the car, but it is still pretty bad. What can i do do get rid of the whine - noise filters are not an option.
thanks,
matt

well, if the rear speakers are self-amplified then you're probably going to need to bypass their amplifier to hook up the rear speakers correctly. otherwise you'd be amplifing the signal twice which might be causing the "whine" your hearing.

Hi,
I have a 1991 Audi 90... Just put in a CD player an it whines too... please let me know if you've found a solution to this... As well, do you know if there is a control unit which distributes power to my rear speakers? My rear left speakers are not working, but the Tweeter still does. Furthermore, when I turn my fader & balance all the way to the rear left, i get music from the rear right..!!
Thanks.

I have a 93 90cs and have the same problems after I installed an aftermarket cd player. I was told that I'd have to bypass the stock-amp by wiring new speaker wire from the HU to the rear speakers. Not sure what i'm going to do. Keep me posted if you find a solution and visa versa.
P.S. Does your noise get louder when you accelerate? Mine Does.
