One day last week I when I turned on my radio (2000 A4 w/ Symphony HU) the traffic station I was listening to the previous day wasn't working. I scanned AM and only one station was tuning in (very weakly). My FM reception is unchanged, and CD changer and in dash CD work fine. I don't hear silence in AM , I hear a weird static/tuning noise. I haven't pulled the HU out (don't have the special tools) but if I get the tools what (if any) connections should I check on the back?
I also heard there is an antenna signal amplifier somewhere else in the car, but if this failed wouldn't FM also be noticibly affected? I am already at the edge of reception for a couple FM stations. I'd think I'd notice if the reception had changed, I'm sure they would be gone.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
