Default Antenna Problems

I had the eclipse 5605 head unit installed in my S4 and the installer said there wasnt any way to connect it to the stock antenna and had to use an aftermarket one. Anyone know how to connect the eclipse head units to your stock antenna?

Default Doesn't sound right to me....

Unless I'm mistaken, most head units use a standard antenna connection.

Default An adapter is needed, as I understand it...

Scosche and others make them, it's the one for VWs.<ul><li><a href="http://www.scosche.com/scosche/antennas/adapter-cables.asp">http://www.scosche.com/scosche/antennas/adapter-cables.asp</a</li></ul>

Default You DO need an adapter.

DrJoshSC is right, you do need a VW/Audi adapter to connect an aftermarket head unit. The factory antenna is located on your rear window glass. It needs to be powered to work. So you need to connect the power antenna wire on your head unit to the wire on the adapter cable to send power to the factory antenna.

Depends on where you go. High-end shops should, but Ye Old Car Stereo probably won't.

No doubt... I laugh when I run to Good Guys, Best Buy, etc. for misc parts and ask though...
