Any Eclipse Head Unit experts out there?

I've noticed that xm or sirius radio integration into the factory bose radio via a blitzsafe or PIE adapter has worked well for most. The radio seems to read CD 1 Track 99 and provides for a direct audio connection. Here is my question:
"There is an aux-in adapter offered for the Eclipse head units. Most distributors state that it is only for a certain model (of course I don't have it), but I believe this is because that model CD player has integrated controls for the sat. radio. If all I want is a direct audio connection (much like the members of this forum) and have a separate sat. radio controller (xm commander, etc.) will the aux in adapter work?
TIA
