Many have suggested running through the ECU, I have heard of interference near the ECU so why risk it...You can search the forums and you will find many debates on this topic.
I recently ran mine through the firewall. The location I used was a large multi-grommet just to the left of the steering column.
1. Remove lower dash first, and you will see the large grommet, rectangular in shape, with a few extra holes. I used one in the far right side of the grommet. I was able to push a 4 gauge through without difficulty.
2. The cable will actually be under the car, near the steering arms. I actually went under the car to make sure the cable would not interfere with the steering, etc.
3. Once clear of the steering, I secured it with a few nylon ties.
4. Notice in the Picture..I then came up the front of the battery tub, or what ever it is called, on the driver's side. There should be any extra grommet location sharing the vacuum line for the brake master cylinder. I slid the cable through and was then able to attach it directly to a fuse block on the battery.
5. Inside the car..I pulled the driver's side kick panel and then door sill trim and ran it to the trunk. Be careful removing the door sill trim, it is very tight and has semi-fragile clips. I was able to release it witout breaking anything. Good luck, I hope this helps.

1) Did you raise the car to get under it? There is not much clearance under there.
2) Can you elaborate on the side panels a bit. I know all about the kickpanel, but have never removed side panels. Do you just pull on them? Do you just frop the wire under? I read some things about foam somewhere in there.
Thanks again

Answer #1
Yes, I did raise the car, I think I used ramps, but I may just used a jack and jackstands.
Answer #2
It has been awhile since I removed the doorsill, but I first removed the driver's kick panel and I believe I gently pulled, starting at the front and working back. There are around 4-5 clips total. Once you get one up, you can easily see how the clips release.
Once you have the plastic sill removed, the carpet and foam will lift out of the way and you have a fairly deep tunnel to run the cable along with a bunch of factory wiring.
I hope this helps.

I'm planning to do an upgrade and right now I'm thinking the best way to run the amp wire to the trunk. Running the amp wire on the ouside of the vehicle seems a bit risky. Any advise on how to run it in the car? Any pics will be GREAT!!! Thanks

Here's the thread from when we all discussed it... This way doesn't go under the car, drops behind the fuses under the driver's dash...

Running 4ga. cable.
