No luck with search. The wiring harness is available from Audi now. Anxious to know. Thanks.

installed mine 2 weeks ago. put it into the trunk, velcroed it to the base. so far so good. got the wiring harness from clairparts. Works great with my Navi Plus setup.

Where did you get the unit? Any particular model/version? Thanks!

Default I have... read onward...

04 Avant with infotainment, not a real S4, but identical sound system/layout. You lose sat radio but gain 5000 songs. I found a hack to manually switch between sat and phatnoise, you have to use a switch besides the one on the radio. Email me for details. I have a plan on paper for an automatic switcher, which im 99.99% sure will work, just dont have the time to invest, and also im **** about the install and Audi doesnt make the connector yet, id have to either cut and splice or else just shove wires into a connector and tape. Neither of which is great for sound quality. I need a source for the 20 pin connector on the back of the radio. (not the harness side, the radio side).

I still havent permanantly mounted the phatnoise unit in the trunk area. I dont like the factory recomended spot, too conspicous if the window shade is open and too vulnerable to cargo (that IS why I bought an Avant you know!)

Let me know if you want details, basically the phatnoise wants pins 18-20 in the connector and so does the sat radio. You need to create double pole switch to switch 2 pins at the same time. One is a ground and can be always connected to both units.

If I could get the connector, I would buy some electronics and solder up an auto switcher. I found a circuit that will automatically switch between two audio sources based on which one is active.

Default Is there a good spot in the Avant?

Is there nowhere hidden from view to mount it?

it was the same model which i used on my 2002 A6. I just velcored it on the bottom of the trunk and its holding nicely. that's about it. wiring harness works with navi plus without any problems.
