Default anyone gotten a new deck to work with the computer? (m)

While I'm still waiting for my '01 S4, I was just wondering if anyone had gotten a new deck to work with the stock computer display in the middle of the guage cluster.

Thanks!

Default

I doubt if any aftermarket head unit has these data outputs for the gauge display.

Default CAN interface - very tricky

I wish I had the S4 to test this out on!!!! I have a 97 with no radio display in the dash cluster so no dice.

I use CAN at work and have tools to analyze the transmissions and send packets ect. I could potentially talk to the unit if I had one to use. - Once I buy an S4 I'll try and figure it out. It is probably pretty tough though.

I would think I could build a device to display what I wanted on the display but it would be another matter to get the Radio info from the aftermarket head unit. I have never seen a head unit that has an output for this kind of data - or any data at all. So it'd be tough to do that part.
