Hopefully the only reason your installer wants pics is to be different.

I didn't say my installer wanted pics. I wanted them, so as to show him that putting the components in the kick panel is an option. That there is enough room and mounting depth. Thanks for your concern though.

Default Kick panels take up too much foot room. Besides ....

if the speakers are mainly for added bass, then have them put the speakers under the dash. I'm putting two JL Audio 6w0's in my glovebox.

Default

Would be installing 2" tweeters and 6 1/2" midranges there, for better stage and imaging.

Default Kick panels take up ZERO room if you like

Mine take up a lot of room, but they can be made to take up NO room. I have pics somewhere, have to dig them out.

Default Yeah, I guess that extra 1/4 inch is too much room, huh?

Remove stock kickpanels, relocate wiring harnesses to behind floor carpeting, cut into metal to give extra depth (can't avoid it), layer stock kickpanels in several layers of vinyl to add rigidity, mount speakers, replace modified kickpanels. Brilliant sound and no loss of interior space (except for the aforementioned 1/4 inch).

Boston Pro 6.4 components:

Default Inn the pics it looks like you added an MDF baffle or something, esp. the passenger side...

What causes the sharp appearance on the right and bottom sides of the kick?

Default Good point. I don't know. Maybe they did add something else, because it is kind of flat.

They only mentioned the vinyl. Eh - oh well. Either way, it's still relatively straightforward and with a negligible loss of cabin space.

Default It can be done. I'm going to do it in the spring........

Moving all the wiring behind the kick panel is a pain in the butt, but very do-able and necessary to get the increased mounting depth. I not so sure it's necessary to cut into the internal sheet metal though. Kick panels are the best place to install for imagig and stage depth. Something else to think about is this........... you can also go with a three way system such as a 4" and tweeter in the kicks and put a 6.5" mid bass in your doors. If you have any further questions, feel free to email me and we can chat.............. I don't proclaim to know everything but I have done this a few time .
