They also bought out all these alarm manufacturers:
Viper, Clifford, Python, Avital, Sidewinder, etc.
Kind of depressing to see this much consolidation in the industry.

http://www.directed.com/</a

1) DEI makes alarms.
2) DEI realizes that everyone else makes better alarms (clifford, avital, pyton, etc)
3) DEI buys all these alarm companies
4) DEI starts to make speakers and amps
5) DEI realizes that everyone else makes better speakers and amps
6) DEI buys all these speaker/amps companies
Now the elusive step
7) DEI stops selling products of comapnies they purchased, integrate into their lineup, and sell all as DEI
-or-
DEI continues to sell other brands
hmmmm

the reason i am selling it is because i wanted a 4-channel jl. i have been waiting for jl amps forever (personal thing) and they kept pushing back the release date. i ran all my interior on the 400 for a while with ZERO complaints. it ran a pair of quart ref coax and a sep tweeter in the front as well a pair of seperate mids in the back. the amp is rated at 2x125 and definetly is strong. it replaced the old PPI 2050 AM i had running the speakers and good lord the difference was huge. the amp was definetly as clean as the PPI but obviously the sound was a lot larger. the amp is in perfect condition, with no scratches, and i had a stinger fan on it at all times in my car. strong amps, i would definetly recommend them. the older DEI amps are junk, but the directed line is great. also their amps have won a couple of CES awards. i have heard quite a few cars with them and they have all sounded really good. the guys i go to installed their smallest amps (the 2 channel and the sub amp) in a crx with jl seperates and two jl6w0's and the sound was quite impressive, especially when you opened the trunk and say how small the system was.
