I was on another forum and some guy is trying to sell me the newer k2 focals. He said the other k series has warpage issues. I wondering if there was any fact to that, sound funny to me too. heres what he said
Actually, I wouldn't suggest going with them. The older K-series has had some trouble with warpage issues and I just don't like to deal with them as it's difficult to get Focal to repair/replace them. The new K2 power series is quite nice and doesn't have the same issues with cone warpage. They are a bit more expensive though. The new V2's are also quite impressive, I would say they sound right up there with the older K-series and are a good alternative. The new K2's are really approaching the sound quality of the Utopia line. Focal also has an uber-high end set coming out sometime soon, if you'd be interested, but they are expected to run around twice the price of Utopias. Here's some pricing on a few different options and sizes for the lines I mentioned. Let me know what you need and I'll get you setup.
Focal 100 V2 $265
Focal 100 KP $405
Focal 130 V slim $265
Focal 130 V2 $290
Focal 130 KP $390
www.Focal-America.com
Shipping should run somewhere in the neighborhood of $20.

I have the 136ks in my B5 A4 and mounting is a super incredible pain in the ***. They're much too deep for Audi doors, so if the mounting depth on the speakers you're buying are the same as the 136k mounting depth, skip it. I'm 100% serious: you will pay someone 4-5 hours of labor to mount them correctly. They will need to cut the living hell out of your door panel, and also bend or otherwise move the window frame (they pushed mine out of the way with a wooden spacer.
And if you do it yourself, you'll hate ever long hour of it, and end up hating your car before it's over. Sound quality isn't so much better (if at all) than similar speakers which can be mounted much more easily.
