I'd like to be able to play MP3's in my car without having to burn them on CD. Back in the day you could take a portable cd player and use in the car with some cheesy casette tape adapter. Is there anything nowadays to get MP3 audio into my car?

Thanks.
Some people has talked about hooking up both the CD changer and the MP3 player to the "CD changer in" cable and then using a switch in the passenger compartment (and a relay in the trunk?) to pick which one you want to listen to.
I think that you are right - once you get an MP3 player back there, you will not need or want your CD changer anymore. I've got over 300 "CDs" in my trunk, having 6 or 8 more in the CD changer is insignificant. If I were you, I'd remove the CD changer, hook up the MP3 player, make sure everything works to your satisfaction and then sell the CD changer.
