Default Anyway to get sat. and phatnoise in an 02 S4?

I just picked up an '02 S4, which has the Symphony HU. I want to get XM or Sirius and still keep the Phatbox I installed. Is there any units with CDC pass through like the SIR-KEN1 that will work with the OEM HU? Or do I have to upgrade to RNS-E?

Default

I'd suggest doing a search. It's been covered quite a bit (recently too).

Default some answers....

<center><img src="http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/media/SOUDGATE_SDSISO.jpg"></center><p>1) Lowest cost method (aftermarket xm/sirius):
if you keep your Sym I, keep your pbox in place and use something like this to gain an additional set of RCA inputs (2) into your Sym I
http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/SOUNGATE_SDSISO.html
cost: $60+

2) Low cost method (oem xm/sirius):
Upgrade to Sym II from a C5 A6 with SAT button (faceplate will need some trimming)
- Sym II with SAT: $300
- oem sat module (xm or sirius): $175
- mis sat antenna and cables/connectors: $150
- phatbox: assume that it is already installed

3) High cost method (oem xm/sirius):
Upgrade to RNSE from a C5 A6
- Basic RNS-E package: $1500
- oem sat module for RNSE (xm or sirius): $400+
- mis sat antenna and cables/connectors: $150
- phatbox: assume that it is already installed

Personally, I opted for #3 because I love the audi nav headunits and I wanted OEM sirius. My dash is completely uncluttered and looks completely oem. See my sig pix...etc...etc.

Good luck!<ul><li><a href="http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/SOUNGATE_SDSISO.html">http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/SOUNGATE_SDSISO.html</a</li></ul>

Default Thanks very much. I am looking to stay with OEM sat too.

It seems that I'll atleast have to upgrade to SymII. I'll try to find some pics, but how is the fitment? Big gaps like the RNS-E I assume.

Default unfortunately yes, .....similar gaps to RNS-E. Good luck!

See some of the docs on www.nsxjr.com for wiring background.
