Baffling for a sub enclosure... how will it sound diffrent if I have it vs. I don't have it?

Baffling for a sub enclosure... how will it sound diffrent if I have it vs. I don't have it?
I just sent in my Inifity Perfect 10.1- which is working REALLY well, but just to make sure it was not blown I sent it in for an RMA. SO I have the hole open and I can add baffling without ANY problems.
1.) Do I fill it tight with baffling? Or do I just lay some around? Do I fill it but not pack it?
2.) Do they sell black baffling anywhere? The white is going to cramp my style ;-) with the plexi windows and neon inside the box :-/
3.) What will it sound like with it in there? I don't really understand what it does?
