Hey guys,

I’m placing an order for a 2022 Audi S5 Sportback and have made a decision on all configuration options except for the navigation package.

I am planning on a premium plus with the bang and olufsen sound system.

I don’t intend to use navigation whatsoever - I usually rely on google maps when navigation is needed BUT I do love to listen to music and have read people claiming that audio sounds much better with the navigation package vs without it.

I wanted to get some opinions on whether this is true and if so, is it a world of difference or a marginal difference? Would it be worth 1500$ for the difference?

I do see the following page - https://www.audiusa.com/us/web/en/inside-audi/innovation/3D-sound.html - which states that the navigation package adds 5.1 Surround Sound technology, but I took that as more of a movie audio capability and am assuming it won’t impact listening to Spotify or Apple Music through Bluetooth or CarPlay (correct me if I’m wrong)!

That’s interesting. My 2021 A5 Sportback premium plus (without navigation package) came with the “B&O sound system with 3D sound” option ($950), according to the window sticker.

I wonder if that’s different from the one listed in the middle of the three systems on your linked page.

And I know I can now upgrade my car to navigation (for a monthly or annual fee) through the myAudi app. If there is a difference, does the monthly fee also improve audio?
