Default Basslink Install Problem...No Servo Light

I just completed an install of a Basslink to my factory Concert radio/CD headunit. The factory stereo is a Bose setup. I tied the Basslink speaker wire harness to the unused leads on the back of the headunit as instructed by others here...a front left and front right. The sub powers up when the headunit is turned on, but I get no sound from the sub and the servo light does not come on. I tried hooking up some other speakers to the leads I pulled from the headunit and all I got was a low level hiss. I checked polarity of the speaker wires...everything seems OK. What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting in the headunit to turn on audio to those unused leads? Should I tap into the bose wiring back at the amp?

Please helped...I'm bummed.
