Best battery-powered Radar Detector?

Best battery-powered Radar Detector?
Any recommendations on the best Radar detectors powered by battery (vs. cig. lighter cord)? I understand the V1 is considered the best overall product - but I would like to hear opinions on battery-powered units.

Convenience & avoiding hard-wiring
The battery-powered units are less-expensive; also - I don't have to deal with the cord. I understand you can hard-wire the V1 (and other products); but I guess I am being overly-cautious - I just don't want to screw up my wiring in the process. If you have any recommendations - I would like to hear them. Thanks.

that's the most ridiculous reason for wanting a battery-powered radar detector.
Do you want a good radar detector, or do you want something that's convenient? You can't have both. V1's are the best for a reason. Plus, how the heck are you gonna know if you're battery is gonna die at an inopportune time? Just doesn't make sense. Besides, do they even MAKE battery powered detectors any more? OR, why don't you just get the lidatek, install it, and never worry about it?

In the B5 cars, there was a vacant, active fuse holder that made hard-wiring easy and completely
reversable. Poke around your forum - I'm sure that someone has done it before.
When you hardwire it, there is NO messing with the cord anymore. You run the wire around the glass, and you don't even see it. Completely worry-free once you're done.
Look into it more before you go battery-powered. V1 is the best by far.
