Best place to mount an amp in an Avant?

Best place to mount an amp in an Avant?
I have a 97 A6 Avant with a CD changer in the left rear compartment. Can the amp mount next to it? Or in the right compartment? How about air circulation? There's not enough space under the two front seats and the rear seats are usually down. Thanks.
