Blitzsafe Adapter on 2005 Symphony II w/ XM
Hey guys,
quick question. Looking into hardwiring a iPod into my '05 Bose head unit with XM. Now, I know that there's something that the XM plugs into that makes the Blitzsafe not compatible with the head unit. But something I found on "autotoys.com":
"This product requires an open factory cd changer port. Internal changers (built into the radio does not use the port). SAT options, etc will use the port. Once the aux adapter is plugged in, it should remain plugged in until you decide to discontinue using the product and return to full time use of your external changer or sat option."
so is the XM receiver plugged into that free cd changer port in the back of the head unit? If so, couldn't I just unplug the receiver and plug in the Blitz adapter? I'm planning to cancel my XM trial subscription as I do not listen to XM much so disconnecting that receiver would be cool with me.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I did a lot of searching and couldn't find anything except that people say it's not compatible with the '05 head units with SAT integrated and connected.
Thanks

It's not compatible, because Audi went strictly CAN-BUS for the audio controls in the '05
rumor has it 'Pheriperal Products' is making something for the '05's, but it's not out yet.

what about ice-link from DenisonUSA? On their site, they say it's compatible with...
'05 A4's with Symphony II....
I'm planning to buy the Ice-Link Plus that just went available today in a week or two...
